US-bound flights need an airport plan
Aruba provides US preclearance, so US immigration and customs take place before leaving the island. The airport’s checked guidance recommends check-in three hours before US-bound departures. Verify current airport and airline instructions before your travel day.
Respect the terminal entry window
The airport’s passenger-flow notice limits entry to the US check-in terminal to no earlier than three hours before scheduled departure. Arriving much earlier can mean waiting outside. Coordinate hotel pickup around the current entry window and your airline’s requirements.
Calculate pickup backwards
Start with the required airport arrival time, add the road journey from the actual hotel and a traffic margin, then agree pickup in writing. Palm Beach and Baby Beach have different road approaches. Checkout time is not automatically a suitable airport pickup time.
Non-US departures
Use the airline’s check-in and bag-drop requirements for your destination. Airport procedures and check-in areas differ between US and non-US flights. Give the departure flight number rather than only saying international flight.
Delayed or changed departure
The airport notice asks US-bound travellers to use the original scheduled departure time unless the airline advises otherwise. Do not move the car solely because an app shows a delay; contact the airline and booking team first.
Be ready at the agreed reception
Confirm the date, Aruba local time, guest name, passengers and bags. Keep the return contact available and wait at the agreed vehicle meeting point. A round-trip booking needs explicit confirmation of its return leg.
